John Reese BlogRush is Shutting Down
Finally, John Reese has decided to shut down BlogRush. For those that do not know, BlogRush was conceptualised in September 2007. If I remember, it was an instant idea that turn it into BlogRush. John was sleeping when he came up with an idea of using blogs to help boost traffic for one another.
The initial phase was with a lot of problem. Every blog was 100% manual check and etc. I got mine rejected due to their stringent check previously.
Here’s a quote from John Reese: -
BlogRush didn’t grow without its fair share of problems — from security issues to abusive users trying to ‘game’ the system to much lower click-rates than expected. We also had some problems with trying to fairly control the quality of the network, and in the process made many mistakes in deciding what blogs should stay or go. All of these issues, ultimately, limited the service’s full potential.
It is sad that after 1 year plus of struggle, BlogRush has to go. Anyway, this is how Internet and IM works. BTW, John Reese did not gain anything from the bloggers. In fact, he had lose a fair sum of money investing on his idea.
So, what can we learn from this??
In my own opinion, I think a dream is still a dream if you did not take action.
Anyway, for those that still has the widget on, it is time to take it down.

I’ve been using blogrush for quite a while. However after looking at the site statistics referral, my traffic didn’t really grew that much at all.
Then i decided to take it down before it closes down
Me too.. actually, there was no “rush” on the traffic stats also. I always think that it is because of my site. Never thought that it will shut down. Nevertheless, his team can move in to their next project..
