What is the single Most Powerful Force in Marketing?
For those who have been following closely with the Internet Marketing news would have already heard this BIG question.
It is just recently that Mark Joyner from Simpleology asked this question in his blog and it spreads like wild fire. Newsletters came in fast and furious, asking people to visit the website to answer this question. Of course, there is a sweetener to this question. The first 7 person that answer it correctly will get something from Mark.
Within a few days, there were about 1300++ comments on this topic alone. It was an interesting experiment. I am sure Mark had already anticipated this outcome. He is using it to push a point. A point that seem so simple yet no one or not many people had taken notice.
So, what is this single Most powerful Force? The answer is ……
Word of Mouth
Simple? Yes.. I would say..
Thinking back, I gathered my thoughts on my daily life and I realised that this single force had been bombarding us daily, without fail…
A simple example..
You are buying chocolate.
You have a many choices.
Which will you buy?
1. One that is the most expensive?
2. One that has the most advertisment?
3. Anyone of them?
4. One that is highly recommended by your spouse, relative or friends?
I am sure a lot of people will choose No. 4 as their answer.. why?
Simplely because it is recommended by word of mouth from real people that has or may have tested the product.
This is what I call Word of Mouth Marketing.
People tend to believe more through word of mouth. It is the fact and we can never change it.
Likewise, a good product, will definitely be able to sell better through this word of mouth marketing…
Just like this simple question, through word of mouth, it had attracted thousands of response and I am sure the market is still discussing it….
BTW, a side effect of this Word of Mouth….
If a product is bad, it will get worse …….. through word of mouth…
That is why I always test my product before I review them….
